Help Us Create a Recycled Bottle Lid Mural! 🌳♻️🦋
Dear Parents and Carers,
At High Green Primary School, we are always looking for ways to make our school environment even more vibrant while teaching our children about the importance of caring for our planet.
This year, our Y6 Climate Ambassadors are launching an exciting new project – a large recycled bottle lid mural on the Year 5/6 ramp area. The mural will be created entirely from recycled plastic bottle lids and will celebrate our Woodland School ethos, creativity and commitment to sustainability.
As part of this project, we are asking for your help!
How can you support?
We would be grateful for donations of clean plastic bottle lids in a variety of colours. These will be used to create the artwork above and help us demonstrate how everyday items can be reused rather than thrown away.
We are particularly looking for:
🟢 Green lids 🟡 Yellow lids ⚪ White lids 🔵 Blue lids 🔴 Red lids ⚫ Black lids 🟠 Orange lids
A collection point will be placed, under the shelter on the yard, from tomorrow morning so children can bring in any suitable lids from home.
Why are we doing this?
This project will:
- Promote recycling and re-use.
- Give our Climate Ambassadors a meaningful environmental project to lead.
- Encourage the whole school community to work together.
- Brighten up our playground with a unique piece of artwork created by our children.
- Help children understand how small actions can make a big difference to the environment.
We are excited to see this project develop over the coming months and will keep you updated with photographs of its progress.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Team HGPS
