Location: High Green Primary School, Sheffield
Contract Type: 32.5 hours per week (flexible start/finish times), term-time only
Contract Length: Fixed term for one year initially (September 2026 – July 2027) Salary: SCP 5 Start Date: 1 September 2026
Main Role
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate and committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEND). This is a rewarding opportunity to help pupils access learning, build confidence and develop positive relationships within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
The successful candidate will:
· Support children to develop positive social interactions, build self-esteem and improve their emotional wellbeing.
· Have experience of working with children who have social, emotional and/or communication needs.
· Demonstrate a calm, consistent and nurturing approach, with effective behaviour management skills.
· Work collaboratively with the class teacher, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and external professionals to deliver tailored support programmes.
· Be resilient, reflective and committed to meeting the individual needs of each child.
· Be passionate about promoting inclusion and enabling all children to achieve their full potential.
The following is desirable, but not essential:
· Experience of supporting a child with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD).
· Knowledge and/or experience of trauma-informed approaches and strategies.
